NEWCASTLE  DISEASE 

Newcastle disease is caused by the Newcastle disease virus (NDV), also referred to as avian paramyxovirus (APMV).

      Treatments

1. Isolate the bird.

2. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Added to the diet at 300 µg/mL showed potent antiviral action against NDV.

3. Calendula officinalis extract: 0.5 ml added to feed daily for for 7 days

4. Vitamin A: 600 IU/kg of feed added to feed source daily.

COCCIDIOSIS DISEASE

Coccidiosis is a parasite that attacks the intestines of poultry.

       Treatments

The most commonly prescribed treatment is Amprolium.

Amprolium  can be goten over-the-counter medication.

Add it to your chickens’ water for about seven days. 

Amprolium interferes with ability to metabolise vitamin B so a vitamin B supplement may be needed following treatment

SALMONELLOSIS DISEASE

Salmonellosis is a disease condition due to Salmonella infection, a severe problem facing the poultry industry worldwide.

Salmonella Pullorum and Salmonella Gallinarum are especially adapted to poultry
